XOLB 170 Perma White

Description: Due to the demand for white ink that consistently fights dye migration, QCM has developed Perma White.   Unlike most bleed resistant whites, Perma White is soft, creamy, and easy to print.   Perma White cures with a smooth finish. Excellent for use as an under base.

Printing Recommendations: Screen meshes in the range of 86-110 threads per inch are recommended for best opacity. We recommend using Westar Solutions highly tensioned frame stretched with high quality low elongation mesh. Use just enough pressure to deposit the ink on the surface of the shirt.   This enhances the opacity and helps ensure a good cure. Try not to drive the ink into the fabric. Squeegee in the 60-80 durometer range with a sharp edge work well.   Do not use for mixing.

Flash Curing: Perma White will flash in 2-3 seconds (10 watts per square inch heating area) or 4-5 seconds (6-7 watts per square inch heating area)-Very Important.

Curing: Recommended cure temperature is 320 °F. for 90 seconds depending on the curing unit and the thickness of ink deposit.   The ink must be heated throughout to properly cure. When cured properly the ink is 100% washable. Low wash temperatures and cooler dryer settings are recommended.   Do not iron or dry clean.

Substrates: Perma White is designed to provide maximum opacity on dark 50/50 fabrics, 100% Polyester and other bad bleeders and to give the best bleed resistance while still offering easy printability.   Always test your garment to determine the amount of dye migration you may experience.

Modifiers: Perma White is ready to use.   Modification is not necessary unless you are trying to achieve a special effect.   Any extenders will affect opacity.   QCM DT-01 Detactifier can be added at a ratio of 1-2% to reduce viscosity while maintaining opacity. Do not add more than 5%.

XOLB Extra Opaque Low Bleed Plastisol Inks and Gotex Standard Plastisol Inks

Description: QCM's XOLB and Gotex Standard plastisol inks are high opacity, multi-purpose inks designed for textile printing.   The smooth, creamy consistency leaves an even, uniform color on white flashed bases and can be opaque on dark garments without a white base. QCM's XOLB and Gotex Standard plastisol inks are fast curing and contain clean, bright pigments.

Substrates: QCM's XOLB and Gotex Standard plastisol inks may be printed on 100% cotton and cotton blends, acrylics, polyester and cotton/poly blends.   Always test your garments to check for adhesion, wash ability, dye migration etc.

Modifiers: QCM's XOLB and Gotex Standard plastisol inks are ready to use.   They can be extended using LFP 1010 Soft Hand Extender Base up to 100% without diminishing strength or adhesion of ink.   Opacity may be affected. QCM DT-01 Detactifier can be added at a ratio of 1-2% to reduce viscosity while maintaining opacity. Do not add more than 5%.

ATP Athletic/Transfer Plastisol Ink

Description: ATP plastisol ink is a heavy bodied, rubbery ink designed for printing and numbering on athletic wear such as jerseys.   It also works well as cold peel transfer ink.   It has low bleed characteristics and also exhibits a stretch quality.   ATP inks have the lowest cure temperature and highest strength of our ink lines.   Works well for jacket printing when modified with MF-66 Nylon Bonding Additive.

Printing Recommendations: Screen meshes in the range of 86-195 threads per inch are recommended for best opacity. We recommend using Westar Solutions highly tensioned frames stretched with high quality low elongation mesh. Use just enough pressure to deposit the ink on the surface of the shirt.   This enhances the opacity and helps ensure a good cure. Try not to drive the ink into the fabric. Squeegee in the 60-80 durometer range with a sharp edge work well.

Curing: Due to the heavy deposits of ink usually associated with athletic printing, making sure the ink is properly cured is very important. Recommended cure temperature is 310 °-325 °F for 60-180 seconds depending on the curing unit and the thickness of ink deposit.   The ink must be heated throughout to properly cure.   Do not iron or dry clean.

Substrates: ATP inks can be used only on nylon, Polyester, cotton and cotton/poly blends.

Modifiers: Reducer #6 low viscosity, low bleed plasticizer will soften the cured ink and make it more stretchy. Use up to 5%.

Glitter Inks

Description: Glitter inks are creamy and easy to print, excellent as highlight colors on dark garments or to be used as over print colors for special effects.

Printing Recommendations: Glitter inks require open mesh counts, 25-40 threads per inch are recommended for best opacity. We recommend using Westar Solutions highly tensioned frames stretched with high quality low elongation mesh. Use just enough pressure to deposit the ink on the surface of the shirt.   This enhances the opacity and helps ensure a good cure. Try not to drive the ink into the fabric. Glitter inks are usually printed last in the print sequence; however, if your design dictates otherwise, flash the glitter before printing your next color.   More than one squeegee stroke may be required to achieve the best result.   Squeegee in the 60-80 durometer range with a sharp edge work well.

Curing: Recommended cure temperature is 335 °-350 °F for 90 seconds depending on the curing unit and the thickness of ink deposit.   The ink must be heated throughout to properly cure.     Low wash temperatures and cool dryer settings are recommended as well as turning the garment inside out for washing. Do not iron or dry clean.

Modifiers: GL series inks are ready to use.

Metallic Inks

Description: Metallic inks are bright, opaque, metallic plastisol printing inks.

Printing Recommendations: Metallic inks print well with mesh counts in the range of 86-125 threads per inch. We recommend using Westar Solutions highly tensioned frames stretched with high quality low elongation mesh. Use just enough pressure to deposit the ink on the surface of the shirt.   This enhances the opacity and helps ensure a good cure. Try not to drive the ink into the fabric.   Squeegee in the 60-80 durometer range with a sharp edge work well.

Curing: Recommended cure temperature is 335 °-350 °F for 90 seconds to 2 minutes depending on the curing unit and the thickness of ink deposit.   The ink must be heated throughout to properly cure.   Metallic inks reflect radiant heat so test your garments carefully.   Do not iron or dry clean.

Modifiers   Metallic inks are ready to use. They can be extended with LFP 1010 Soft Hand Base but opacity may be affected.   DT 01 Detackifier may be added to reduce viscosity while maintaining opacity.

Reducers, Additives & Modifiers

Reducer #6:   Reducer #6 is a high viscosity, low bleed plastisizer.   It is a slower fusion reducer.   You can add up to 10% without increasing bleed characteristics.   #6 will soften the hand and increase the inks stretch ability.

Curable Reducer P5011:   P5011 is a viscosity reducer or ink consistency softener.   It can be added to plastisol inks in any amount without concern of making the ink too soft or tacky.   Opacity will be affected in proportion to amount of P5011 used.

Detackifier DT01:   DT01 helps eliminate build up on the underside of screens when printing wet on wet.   Use sparingly, no more than 5%, recommended 1-2%.   The addition of DT01 will improve the printability of the ink without affecting the opacity.

Nylon Bonding Additive MF66:   MF66 is an additive for plastisol inks for printing on nylon and waterproof-coated materials.   Add MF66 to unmodified ink at a ratio of 12-15% by weight.   Mix thoroughly.   Mesh of 195 or higher is recommended for best results to maintain definition and prevent wicking.   The addition of MF66 will thin the ink.   A heavy deposit is not necessary, as nylon fabrics do not absorb ink; rather it lays on the surface.     A jacket clamp may be necessary depending on your material.

Cure at 325 ° for 60-90 seconds.   We recommend you only mix what is needed as mixtures with MF66 will result in a 4-6 hour pot life.   Clean up immediately after use to prevent permanent adhesion to your screen.

Plastisol inks that have been reduced, extended or modified with any of the above additives can be cleaned up using Franmar's Greeneway plastisol ink remover or Franmar's Color Change on press ink cleaner for best clean up results.   Franmar products are available at westarsolutions.com.
